As I posted previously, I have a large 40 team softball tournament coming up. I know that I will need 1-2 additional photographers, for at least one day, and 1-2 techs at the booth. This is obviously spec work, as far as the sales go. We are not printing on site, just viewing and collecting $$. How do I begin to determine what fair pay is for the additional photog's and table techs?

I know that it will vary with the photog's based on experience, but I don't even know where to start or how to calculate what is fair? What about the table folks? They will pretty much just be importing images into viewing software. No cropping or editing on site.

Looking forward to comments. Thanks !!

Is this LL, HS, or College? It really all depends on the caliber of shooter you are going to hire, a day rate would be something to look at. I know what I ask for day rate which is 8 hrs of shooting time and the people I shoot for know my caliber of shooting and they don't even question my price. A day rate between 150-200 would be a good starting point and like I said it all depends on the caliber of shooter you want to attract.

It's a softball tournament, ranging from 8u to 18U. Also, other than Craigslist posting, what are some other options to find additional photogs and table techs?

IS there any rule of thumb that has been successful in having the right number of photogs?

If you have a photo club locally that could be a good place to start, JC's with PJ classes. I did a similar LL Baseball in Myrtle Beach last year we had 4 sales person 3 photogs for six fields on the final 2 days, the first 3 days were held in 3 different location, so we had 1 sales person and 1 photog at each location and 1 sales person stayed at the main venu. During the last 2 days each photog covered 2 fields and we had walkie talkies to communicate back to the tent or have someone to come and get cards to down load.

Good Luck
Romeo
