Went out to watch a game, in which my boss's son was playing. I've never really taken pics of sports, so please help me along here. Wish I had a faster lens, but, no such luck. Next time, I may just bring the 300 f4 L IS...and see if I can get better separation. I have a feeling it's not going to be the same, without a faster lens, though.

first needs a much tighter crop, second is very oof as is the third which is also a somewhat questionable angle. At 1/1000 and 1/4000, there is no way you should be seeing any motion which leads me to think your hand must have been a little unsteady in #2 as well as focusing on the wrong subject. #3 just suffers from an incorrect focus point I believe. I'd also add that for #3, I'd have probably used 640-800 ISO and dropped the shutter a little. I think it would make for a cleaner image and still allow a shutter speed that's plenty fast enough for little league.

sorry to beat em up but that's the point of c&c and how we all get better. keep at it and make sure you nail that focus point with a steady hand. perhaps a monopod or some fixed object could be used to give a little more stability as well.

Thanks Scott. The focus point was intended to be on the catcher, as that is my boss's son. So, it was intentional. As for the crop on the first, that's an easy fix...

Here's one that was aimed straight at the pitcher, while he was throwing to first. I appreciate the comments...for next time.
