Hey all... I'm looking for something to give me this effect... I can get the color, etc... but what I'm missing is the texture. Anyone know of a texture package that includes something like this, or perhaps a filter?

Thanks!
- Tommy

(for proper credit, this photo is by Jeff & Julia Woods, and I'm only posting it so you folks know what I'm looking for.)

Just go out and shoot some seasoned wood boards or building.
Then use photoshop to blend you images.

Tommy I really like that look too. I have no ideas to help you with finding this, but I am wondering if it was maybe done with a texture and a brush tool. I'll do some searching and see if I can help you.

Thanks for the tip Chuck... I have other wood textures that I tried out, and it just didn't quite cut it for me...

Thanks Kathy!

I may run over to the flea market this weekend and see if I can find some old postcards that might be worn and have a good texture... maybe I could scan it and create a texture... I'll let you know how it works out! ;)

Ok... Here's what I came up with, and I figured I would share it with everyone. I know in particular, Kathy would like it! ;)

Ok... here's our starting image (Meet Lauren):

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

After a few adjustments in LR (split toning, vignette, etc), we get this:
IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

Then, onto Photoshop. I found a texture (oldpaper.jpg), that was a download from an old tutorial. I converted it to B&W, adjust contrast etc, and upscaled it to be the same dimensions as my original image (oldpaper_upscaled.jpg). I copied this texture into a new layer in the original image (and in this particular instance, I rotated it 180*). I changed the layer mode to "Linear Burn". You can play with other modes to achieve different effects. Then I adjusted opacity of the layer to adjust the effect (55% in this case).

Here is the final result:
IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

Here is a link to a zip file containing the texture files, as well as the Lightroom preset that I created for this. I created the preset to match my needs, so you may need to adjust it for your particular situation. Enjoy!! Let me know what you guys think! ;)

I would tone down the saturation and mask out the texture on her face.
