1st shot

Just bought a new 40D with 17-85 lens. Thought I'd try a shot or two, and see what hints/tips people give so I can "learn the ropes" of a decent SLR.

This shot was taken whilst I was reading the manual...A few of my wife's bangles placed on a file by the table...

Thanks very much, but i dont put many to shame...not on this forum...lol (i have practiced and practiced, and took advice from here, so thats where credit is due!)
feel free to post comments on ones you do like.

you will find there are many here who will put me to shame...but we all have our own style, equipment, and we live across the globe, so all can offer something that another cannot...that is why i love this forum!

Welcome. This hobby bites, in a nice way. Lighting is good. I think the shot works ok. With the foreground blurred it directs you to the main part, the heart.

Thanks for the kind comments chaps...I'll be sure to play around with the camera...then save up for a decent macro lens after that!!
