I did a shoot this weekend with a Saudi family. It went alright I guess. I played with low sunlight and they were all shot with my 135 f/2 and 5D. I am fairly pleased, they are elated.

I am posting because I have been particularly critical lately on the forums and everyone has taken the criticism so well. So, I am putting up few recent shots so that all of you can have a shot at me.

Excuse the compression. The originals on pbase were too big.

Here are my 3 favorite from that day....

The first is a nice picture, the second is a family album shot, the third don't mind the pose but would like to see some detail in his hair, again its a good shot for the album.

Nice pictures.. The 1st and 3rd ones look a little soft. It almost looks like the focus fell on the cloth just above and to the right of her left eye (camera right).. It is hard to really tell though.. Nice job over all.. :) thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I agree that they look a little soft here. They are sharper as originals but I felt like the whole shoot came out a little soft. I think it was because I was shooting with a setting sun and a 135mm lens. The DOF is terribly narrow. I am used to shooting in the 5-5.6 range with my 85 but I think this is a different thing.

I don't mind the softness on the first you can still count her eye lashes. With third it has the soft end of a lazy day look.

On the last image There was a finger coming out of his nose. Kinda distracting. All in all I liked the pictures very much.

It's amazing what you don't see when you take the picture. It is so much like writing a paper and trying to find a proof-reader. I can't believe I didn't see that.
