Here is my blog sight. I am posting a link because it seemed like the easiest way to post them. http://photopettit.blogspot.com/ (external link)

Tell me what you think. If you click on the picture it will expand full size.

the fishing guy seems kinda blurry...
the rusty car front picture is a little overexposed.
i like the moving water pic but maybe it'd be better in real color not sepia.
i think i'd like the memorial picture better if the rose wasn't dead? also, don't know what isolating the red really does for the picture. seeing the green of the petals would be nice.

...but i'm no expert:)

Well, to address the 4 images that came up when I opened your link, I think they're pretty decent, but I think there's some room for improvement as well.

In your first shot, "Matt Fishing", you have the central subject (the guy fishing) almost dead center in the frame. Especially with the angle of the rod and such, I really would have followed the rule of thirds here and put "Matt" further over to the left. Easy enough to fix with a simple crop.

In the second shot, I really like this but I think instead of b&w, I might have gone for a sepia tone instead. I'm normally -very- selective about which shots I choose to desaturate or do as sepias, but I think this shot would be an ideal candidate.

The third shot, "Blurred Water" is just the opposite in my opinion. This one I would have preferred rich, full, deeply saturated color. I know this is really a subjective thing, but for most nature shots I really prefer color.

"Vietnam Memorial"...I like it. I think this shot really makes a statement both about remembrance and the passage of time. The only real comment I have here is that it looks like this shot was selectively colored, which I don't have a problem with, but I would have left some color in the stem of the rose.

Anyways, as I said, I don't think these are bad shots by any means, but I think with a little work they could be better.

Peace,
Jim

Thank you for the feedback. I was going through sepia and BW phase when I edited these photos. I took your advice and update the pics. I didn't mess with the memorial picture because I feel that it needs a little more work. Tell me what you think.

The repost of "On Granddad's Land" and "Blurred Water" are much better in my opinion. In fact with Granddad's land, I think I'd go with even a little more sepia/orange in the shot and may even a bit more contrat....really give it an aged feel that would go well with the subject matter. Don't go too gung ho, but I think a little more would work.

Peace,
Jim
