sorry to hijack this thread,
anyway i'm looking to buy either of this tripod
the price difference is only $10 in my country between them
i'm 180 cm and using 450D which one is more suitable for me ?
tahnk you.

I'm 182 cm and my 055XPROB with Giottos ball head is just the right height for me.

With the legs fully extended and the column all the way down, I bend my head down slightly to see through the viewfinder of my 30D.

Are you sure about that? I use my 055XPROB very often, and I'm reasonably certain that it only has 3 section legs.

On the 190 you can extend it twice giving you a total of 3 sections, I believe that the 055 can be extended 3 times giving you a total of 4 sections. I could be wrong, now you have me second guessing myself. I'll have to go check.

Good idea. I'm looking at my 055 right now. It has three leg sections.

I'm almost ceratin I'm going to go out to my local camera shop tomorrow and pick up a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod along with the 488RC2 ballhead.

I have the same setup...

I am 6-feet tall and with this ball head on the tripod, I can stand straight and view through the viewfinder with the center column collapsed.

I particularly bought the ball head so that I could also shoot panoramas.

It's not the lightest rig, but I can still take short hikes with it and not be bothered by weight. It's usually attached to my camera backpack, although that link doesn't show the tripod, just the contents of my bag.

.

-Canon EOS 40-D with vertical/battery grip, wireless remote shutter release
-Canon 10-22mm F3.5 USM (with hood)
-Canon 70-300mm F4 EF IS USM (with hood)
-Canon 28-135mm F3.5 EF IS USM (with hood)...and many more items.
-Check out my photography here (external link). And here (external link), too.
