Hey everyone! Some of you may remember me, posted my first model shoot in Febuary.
https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=458282

Until then I had a stupid accident fractured my ankle and havn't been able to do any shooting since, until recently. But I did some purchasing, picked up a 40D with some reflectors and a 580EX-II + some other small purchases. Really happy with the EOS 40D, spectacular camera.

Well anyways, here is my 2nd attempt of a shoot, and first shoot with a reflector. I had a whole lot of fun, although its totally different when you shoot a model who has a lot of experience and then go to a model who has no experience. So I really need to learn some poses.

I think you guys did a fantastic job here.
It's too bad you cut off the hand in #3.
I think the exposures might be just a TAD hot, but nothing that can't be fixed in post.
How were you positioning the reflectors in these?

I'm not looking at them on the best monitor (calibrated laptop) but I agree with Drisley in that they look a little hot; but the lighting is very nice. Well done. Looks like you had a lot of fun.

#4 would have been perfect if the glasses were about 1/4inch higher so it didnt cut off her eye, other than that, great pictures, fun poses!

Thanks everyone! Yeah I had a blast, reflectors are fun to use actually. Juts need to get some sandbags because the wind certainly likes to take over when on a stand/holder.

greemxeyes, I never would have thought about the glasses, thanks for bringing that up, I will keep in mind next time!
And when you guys mean "hot" are you saying the colours are a bit too warm, as like too much red/yellow?

Thanks for the CC.

Usually that means the skin detail is lost because its too bright, but in all actuality these photos arent really "hot".

They look fantastic, great use of the reflectors. Everything looks spot on. Leave them as is.

Hot = bright in this case.
I find the some areas on the skin a TEENY TINY bit too bright on my calibrated monitor (probably only #1 and #4).
It's just a TINY amount, but that's just my taste.

Yep, "bright" - not blown and the colors are right on.

Isn't it amazing how much more professional images look when the lighting is controlled so well? You did a super nice job with the reflectors here. Well done. I'm glad to see you didn't let breaking your ankle ruin your photography aspirations. I used to do a lot of woodcrafts before getting more involved with photography, and I broke my ankle as well. I've not been down to my woodshop (in the basement) since... however, I have really put my photography on the high priority track so it's not all bad, eh?
