dude, don't buy from henrys. they are marked up to the max. Try adencamera.com there is one in markham in pacific mall and one downtown. check their site for the locations. They are the best priced in Toronto, I did alot of research for the best prices. Where are you located?

If you are going to buy soon, I think the canadian canon rebates go until june. I got my 40D body only for roughly $1200CAD after taxes and rebates. If you buy body+lens the rebates are better.

i am in costa rica but will be in the GTA area and over in markham actually, i have been going back and forth between vistek and henrys.. will check out aden

What kind of extended warrenty coverage do they have? henrys it is 3 years, bring it in they take care of it, after 3 times in it gets replace with a new model or equivilent part...

i arrive on June 18th, all the prices are with out the rebate, but i am hoping to buy the gear on the 19th, so i could apply for the rebates..

will look up this gear on their site.. i think this would be my final list....

Qty Item Each Total
CANON SPEEDLITE 430EX FLASH $299.99 $299.99
CANON EF-S 60MM 2.8 MACRO USM LENS $599.99

LOWEPRO SLINGSHOT 200AW $109.99
2x SANDISK EXTREME IV 2GB COMPACT FLASH $49.99 $99.98

comparison of site to site

Henrys:

Qty Item Each Total
CANON SPEEDLITE 430EX FLASH $299.99
CANON EF-S 60MM 2.8 MACRO USM LENS $599.99
CANON EOS-40D W/28-135 IS USM LENS $1,599.99
LOWEPRO SLINGSHOT 200AW $109.99
SANDISK 2GB EXTREME III CF CARD $49.99 $99.98 Remove Item

---------------

SubTotal: $2709.94

Aden

EOS 40D w/ 28-135mm IS $1,399.99...............+ $200 rebate
EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens $549.99............... + $50 rebate
430EX Speedlite $299.99............... + $50 rebate
SlingShot 200 AW $109.99
Extreme III 2GB CompactFlash $54.99 $109.98
Subtotal $2,469.94

Now from what i understand with Aden, is that the price listed is their sale price PLUS i can still send in for the rebate, as their site says prices listed is before rebate, so that is another $200 off the 40D combo.... and othe items, so another $300 knocked off...

After rebates (if i ever get em from Canon) Subtotal $2,169.94

cool so you know where pacific mall is? Ask for Danny, he was a great help. Above is the prices from Aden. I wouldn't buy the memory cards from them though, you can find better prices elsewhere.

Good luck with your new gear!

That's correct! take the 40D body only (external link) I bought from them. List price is 1349.99, but their price is 1149.99. So after taxes I payed around $1300 minus the $100 rebate so roughly $1200. I haven't received the rebate yet but got confirmation that it's been approved.

Not sure about their warranty but you can check the site or call if you have any questions.

ya going to call them :) cause if it is like henrys i will use them for sure!, almost seems too good to be true, and this also means i could buy all my gear at once, instead of buying some then waiting to see if i can get the rest before i leave (pending on what i do while i am there)

Actually you can double the rebate if buying 2 items on the list. In your case, 40D plus a 17-40 f4L, 70-200 F4 or F2.8L, or 17-55 f2.8. I know Herny will price match so you can get Aden price and Herny's extended warranty.

7D, 17-40 F4L, 24-105 F4L, 50 F1.8, 70-200 F4L, Sigma 24-60 F2.8.

Why don't you buy from B&H photo. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ (external link)

All your items add up to only $1888.6 including shipping to Toronto. You only pay GST when it arrives in Canada.

Many of us Canadians buy from B&H or other US retailers. Much better deal.

i want to buy in person when spending this much, since B&H is in the U.S any returns i have to ship it out of costa rica / canada i assume, pay a fortune, where as in canada i have family or friends, fly up one time and i can leave it there and a friend can hold it till i get back, main problem is when thing come back to costa rica, or shipping, it is a fortune, paying duty and taxes even if it is something that has come in before, especially when it comes back in, then i have the worry of costa rican customs damagaing it before i even get my hands on it, or canadian customs, it is a nice price, but about the only thing i buy online is computer parts :), i have seen so much stuff trashed and ruined, and even with insurance, something goes wrong, weeks to get anything back or resolved.. just so many "potantial" problem that coiuld come up which would end up with me not having a camera when i leave as i am only there for 10 days.

mmm, does B&H have a store..lol i could drop in on my way to canada if only they had a location in houston :), or will henrys price match to online stores and in U.S, prob not

i am already coming to canada anyways and i am up there every 3 months, so i dont mind getting it there :) i know in the U,S i could prob save on taxes though.

Thanks for that henrys info, i was going to call to ask if they would price match cause if they do, that could change what i buy :)
