This is scary.... item for item just what I have, except for the 85mm. Even the tripod that just can't keep it up... (was bought for a video camera anyway).
Do you find that you have to manually adjust flash exposure by about +1 when shooting in a dimly lit room with Tamron / XTi / 430ex ?

That's not a problem with the camera, the flash, or ETTL, it's an education issue. Read up on how ETTL works and you'll understand why FEC needs to be changed depending on the subject you're shooting.

Of course it does, I just find ETTL can sometimes play silly buggers.
I use it when I can't be bothered to meter for manual, or for quick shots.

90% of the time it's OK, but for consistently good results of hte same thing...manual.
