Yesterday was one of the first 'real' days for the Mark III and I. Long story short, I'm impressed. 1000 shots in 10 days and so far I have yet to find any reason, save for the internet, to doubt my camera.
Are there broke ones? Of course. This isn't about that. It's about posting something positive about the camera.
I used active AF point AI Servo and full high speed burst shooting in RAW. The down side to the is that there was a couple times I ran into the buffer wall prior the runner crossing the line. This camera is fast and can write more info to the card than you need. All manual mode. Settings were:
C.fnIII - 1,0 C.fnIII - 2,0, C.fnIII - 3,0 C.fnIII - 4,0 C.fnIII - 5,1 C.fnIII - 8,0. This part takes some getting used to. It's not a Mark IIn or Mark II by any means.
Yes there were OOF shots, poorly composed shots, DOF issues etc. All user error. I've also since then spent some more time microadjusting my lenses. I'm wondering though if that might be a possible crutch for poor technique?
Oh, and yesterday in Olympia...It was hot. 86 or so? Blazing sun. The field is astroturf and the rubber was soaking up all the heat. Ugh.
The camera is the best I've used yet. The 10mp, 14 bit, dual Digic makes a substantial difference in IQ I think. But on the other hand, you lose most of that in web jpegs.
Anywho - a few shots and compilations. The compilations are heavily cropped.
