Canon Selphy CP740 - Cannot use own paper?

I recently got myself a Canon Selphy CP740. They provided a sample 4x6 postcard size paper for printing. There is a tray that comes with it as well.

Is there no way for me to put my own 4R paper in? The tray canon provided only fit the postcard size.

Please advise. Thanks buddies!

Probably if you trim your paper to the exact size of the paper provided by canon you'll be able to use it.

You could probably trim third party paper to fit, but there's no guarantee it would be compatible with Canon's color ribbon. Since the ribbon and paper are only sold together, in the end there would be no real advantage to using you own paper. I've heard horror stories of people substituting paper in dye subs. Ribbon sticks to paper resulting in not being able to get paper or ribbon out of the printer without disassembling printer.

Color? It's all relative...
