These are a couple of my favorite from Game 2 of the NAIA Super Regionals that my college hosted.

I was contemplating to post them or not, after Adam posted his.

some caption included to show my lack of luck and experience and I'm just ranting, I'm not completely not satisfied with my work, I'm getting rave reviews from everyone in school but when i see Adam's work, i get :(

1.) My attempts at trying something different

Haha stop being so hard on yourself.

Theyre all nice captures but Id stay away from shooting peoples backs unless there is a good story that goes along with it (and preferably a story that the picture tells instead of you).

May favorite is #5. In #7 you say you cant get a BOB because of 3200ISO and 1/500ss but the EXIF on #7 says 800ISO and 1/1000.

FWIW, the only time I shoot baseball at 1/1000 is in the middle of the night games. I always try to stay above 1/2500. If you went to 1600ISO youd be at 1/2000 so thats close.

Id just say to be careful with how you frame/crop, try to stay away from capturing peoples backs (unless its a really good story being told), and dont fall into habit. Keep trying to take something different.

i know, the back shots are the closest i got of play, i camp out on 1st, waiting for action on home, and the action happens on 2nd, I move over the 3rd to catch action coming into 2nd, and action happens at home.

no hard on myself, then can't improve. sadly, my images are the best the school has ever since, since the 2 staff photographer/EIC and photo editor left the newspaper, FINALLY.

the window is small for BOB, cause the sun sets fast. I noticed that you had your SS at 1/2500, i'd only have 2 to 3 innings before the sunsets and light starts to suck.

Well dont worry about BOB too much. Theyre ok shots to get but I wouldnt quest after it. The big shots are almost never of batters and if they are, theyre almost never BOB

I get BOB shots all the time.....shooting 8U softball:p

Nothing like 35 mph pitch speed to make BOB easy.

I like #8 the best, that's tighter than I ever have the guts to crop and it makes for a great image. I'm always trying to keep the end of the bat etc. in shots for some reason which is a habit I need to break.
