Hi peoples,

The other day i posted for the first time about purchasing new twin canon 580exII flashes and wireless transmittor. At that time i ran home and snapped a couple of pics of the wife.

Today however, i planned ahead and took some photos of the wife again and seeking cronstructive advise how how to improve further.

FYI. i shot using ISO800 Two flashes of camera canon 24-105 L series f4. Manual shutter and app 1/125 @ F4. Custom white balance

For one of the flashes i built a beauty dish and mounted it to my flash, for the other i bounced of a wall. ( the beauty dish, if your interested. got the specs from the strobist sight)

here are some pics, please comment and give me tips, if i can id like to getter more defined shadows on one side of her face. again please advise and thanks.

Are you wanting help with posing or lighting? The critique section might help you more. The lighting seems a little bit flat, I don't like that her forehead is dark in the right hand one, I think the light's coming from the wrong direction. From the side's best. In the first the background's busy and dark.

#1: With that pose (her face is pointing slightly camera right) and the way her hair is, I would rather see the main light on camera right. Also try a little more main light and a little less fill. This is just my opinion from looking at the shadow patterns, not a matter of right or wrong.

#2: I don't know how to photograph upside-down people. I never tried it.
