Hi People,

Looking for frank and honst assement of these informal portraits and candid shots of Tokyo Street Fashion/Characters.

A) Do they seem to catch the mood and personality of the city's young generation?

B) Are the images visualy stimulating?

C) Colors etc. etc.,

Well actualy, any pointer observation you can give are sought.

Thanks

NicholasBB

Hi Nicholas
Like the first picture, it is close to being really good, the background just doesn't have quite enough seperation.
My main comment s are that all of the images have the subject smack bang in the middle of the image, more thought with composition would help the images stand out. Also given the colourful subjects, In particular the creature carrying the pink bag I would have really expected some pop ... nothing realy jumps out and grabs the attention.

If yu could do something with the background on the first image yu could make a great picture .. I love all the things going on at the same time with this guy, especially the smoke ... some PP might just swing this one.

So good subjects, try some crops and shoot with different angles .... composition is easy to say but not as easy to think about in situ ... sometimes less is more.

yeah, wow, that first picture is sweet with the smoke. i kinda wish you got more of him in the shot though. what ^ said can be done in photoshop (increase contrast, saturation, etc), especially if you have the RAW. nice shots overall. i also like the one with the girl with the mouth cover, mostly for her eyes.

Just a quick one..I like the image of the girl with the mouth/nose mask however, my eye keeps going to the girl on the left of her. She obviously has beautiful eyes but only the one eye is pictured. I'd like to either see her face (at least enough to see both eyes) or not even have her one tantilizing eye looking at me :)

My .02 worth......

Nicholas,,,,IMHO these images are a great example of urban street life in Japan..You have captured some characters..Street photography is very difficult as most shots are candids where you have no control over lighting, backgrounds etc..

In short you have done well with what you have..
