Hello all! My husband and I are trying to plan a 4-5 day vacation at the end of June. We are looking for somewhere that is going to be relaxing and will give us tons of photography opertunities. We are looking to stay within 5-6 hours from us so we'd be looking at Ohio, Western PA, Virginia, West Virginia Maryland or possibly North Carolina. Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!
Tammy

DC gets you all the sites there, plus VA and western MD all day trips away.

I'd like to second Alex's suggestion for the DC area. Not only all the monuments but the museums are free. Northern Virginia (Skyline Drive, Fredricksburg, etc) are beautiful and Baltimore's inner harbor is a one hour drive. Throw in Ocean City and Atlantic City and you'll have a tough time craming everything into 4-5 days!

The Pocono's are nice, but I'd get bored after 2 days myself.

If you're into hiking and outdoor activities, I'd head towards Ashville NC.

You have the Biltmore where you could spend a few days at alone. The Gardens are supposed to be out of this world in the spring and the house itself is just amazing.

They tell you not to bring in cameras and no flash, but I walked right in with one and just bumped up my ISO and got great shots

Ashville has dozens of waterfalls to hike to and the area has a very cool downtown with some great restaurants. Very artsy area.

What ever you choose, have fun and take lots of pictures
