Curious about AEB and FPS on 40D

This thought just popped into my head today, and I was wondering does the 40D (with proper shutter speeds) still fire at 6.5 FPS while auto-exposure bracketing? I was bracketing with my XTi the other day and thought about how nice it would be to do this faster.

I think so, but it only takes 3 shots when you hold it down.
