I mean I personally see no reason to cheap out on a hood for like $50 when you've bought a lens for $1000, but I know some people do.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

we heard you the first time.
for some of us here, $50 is the last thing we can spend after saving for a $1000 lens...

sorry for 'cheaping out'.

Oh sorry, didn't realize this was the same thread...
I still wanna know if the third party lenses have the flocking inside them though, since that alone should be worth the money

gives a truly different feel to the camera. highly recommended! pick up the E1 strap too :)

I totally agree with junji98, get the E1 strapo too !

I had the same problem with my “old” analog EOS in the past….hands too big and camera body too little to hold with the weight of a bigger lens.
There I already bought this battery-pack, just for the hold of the camera. With these older battery-packs there was this (cheap plastic) hand strap included.

Because of my hobby, photographing military aircraft, I have to stay in most difficult positions (in a lot of countries they don’t like this hobby and treat you like a spy J), high up in trees, on traffic signs etc., to get a better look over the fences and I need a good grip on the camera. I was very pleased with my old Canon as it was with the grip.
There came the day I started photographing digital and bought myself this 400D…same problem…hands too big and body too small (mine too, but I meant the camera body). Surfing the Internet I found out very quick I had to buy this battery pack BG-E3 and the hand strap E1, it is even possible to mount the neck strap.

With the (comfortable) leather hand strap it is even possible to take photos with just one hand (if the lens is not too big and heavy)…not being afraid the camera slips out of your hands. I think my camera is almost perfect now, where I use it for.

So...if you spend the money for a BG-E3...spend a few dollars more for this E1 hand strap.

Hey, I bought the Opteka grip with 2 Opteka 1800 mAh batteries about a month ago and I love the thing.

The Xti, if you have large hands like I do, will seem a little small. Attaching this grip increases grip/surface area and the camera will be better to handle. I can't believe that I did not get it when I first bought my Xti.

As far as battery life, I have gone close to 3 weeks without charging batteries.

It's a great product all around and at $80 WITH batteries is a steal.

I have not heard anything about the Targus grip but people that have the Canon grip cannot tell the difference from what I have been told.

Save some money and get the Opteka grip!
