Just happened to have my camera with me ;) when I came across a local cricket match, so I popped in to capture my first ever sports shots.

C&C always welcome

First would be OK without the green clutter at the bottom and the second is a no use shot.. far too over exposed and ...well nothing there TBH

HTH :)

But APART from that comment...

Well done for having a go at a difficult sport. Difficult because you need such a long lens to achieve great shots.

As long as you're sticking to the 'max. aperture/fast shutter speed' rules, I don't see why you shouldn't get good shots.

If you place yourself almost directly in-line with the wicket, you get the bowler's face or the batsman's, depending on what's going on.

Incidentally, I couldn't see your second shot, it was mostly 'greyed out'.

Thanks for posting though. I fancy trying some myself this year.

I really like the second shot - more so than the first. It's the very definition of dejection.

Couple comments: the green blob on the first kills it. The second seems soft and/or OOF. For cricket, usually you want a more parallel view, though I understand this can be hard without a longer lens.
