I just chatted with a customer representitive from NewEgg and apparantly they won't be doing the Canon rebates. I buy most of my Computer parts from them and wanted to give them a chance to sell me the 40D. He said they aren't an offical Canon dealer. Maybe he's wrong and they'll come around. I'll probably go with B&H

Another member from Jacksonville, interesting. Order it from Amazon...thru one of their dealers, it'll be cheaper, and most likely, free shipping, vs. B&H.

They aren't an official Canon dealer. Ever notice they don't give refunds, only exchanges on Canon stuff.

I was just going to say that, they're not an authorized canon retailer, which is really odd.

You must have a B&M store to be an auth retailer afaik. Newegg does not.

Shooting with the Canon 5D & Nikon D300... and now the 20D!

I don't know if Amazon atually has a "retail store" but I have bought 3 Canon cameras from them with no probs. Not one of their "Partner" or whatever they call it, Amazon themselves. "Sold by and shipped from Amazon. com" I have also bought from B&H with exactly as promised results. Of course, B&H does have a huge retail store.

BTW, 2 from JAX? And one from The Old City. Lots of things here in St. Augustine to use that new 40D on, and a neat little day trip from JAX without burning much gas. I have major back surgery in 2 weeks that will leave me laid up for 3 months, but after that, let me know. I am actually a tour guide here and can show you around or give you ideas what to see and do. I love being a tourist here, even after being a guide for 3 1/2 years, so I can steer you around to what you need to see.

Glasstream...I actually live in St. Augustine...off of 210. I'm on the border of Jax and St. Auggie.

Good luck with the back surgery.

We go to St Augustine quite often. We live in the Julington Creek area in St Johns county. About 20 minutes away.

I have friends that live in JC...and used to live there, in a rental...prior to buying a house. Mickler Beach isn't too far, so, that's always a favorite place to go, and show people the 'beach.'

And it's starting to look like we may need a "First Coast" get together. Have to be in the Fall though. It'll be September before I'm allowed to drive again. I wonder how many other "Canonites" live around the First Coast area. Thousands I know, but those that would get into a forum like this.

Might be interesting.

The wife and I were at Mickler beach last Saturday. If we go to the beach that's where we usually go. I worked with a guy who's family the beach was named after.
