I took this photo while the team was in Florida last month. Please let me know what you think.

Good composition, but they look a little squinty and it appears a tad squished (vertically) on the right side of the image.

Why yes, I DO shoot people—and they pay me well for it.:D

The WB seems to be a little off and it seems to be over exposed, the whites are blown out and the faces have a lot of hotspots on them, i do like the composition though, what lens was this taken with?

...looks like the Disney complex, which is a great place to shoot.

I'm a traditionalist and like standard team shots for some reason (though due to this board have come to appreciate the other types like this and seen them used in some cool projects). Anyways, the whites are blown and the sun is definately making them squint too much as mentioned. The background is too close, if noone was on the field turn them around and shoot the field in the background. If that is the Braves complex there's sometimes empty fields elsewhere - though they always seem to have teams going at times. Never shoot with them looking into the sun, best spot for me has been when it's at there back to a side a little...

Thanks everyone for your comments. I agree that it is a bit overexposed. The girls were in a hurry - it was between games and they were hungry - so I set them up in front of the dugout. I should have paid more attention to the angle of the sun, and I should have done a better job setting the exposure. I guess that's how we learn.

This is actually 3 photos combined to make the the panoramic shot. I used a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS.

Yes, this is at the Disney complex.

definitely a great concept. Great work with the panoramic. I'd like to see the girsl closer together, but I know how grumpy a softfball team can be when they are hungry!

I don't think he could have posed them closer together, because I would imagine it would have been much harder to stitch the 3 shots into a pano shot like this.

I never considered a pano shot for a group of people. This is very interesting. Thanks for posting.

Interesting idea... very much the "tough girl" look, which is probably what they wanted. Not sure how it will look reprinted in an 8x10 though.
