Hi All,

i've just got my full unrestricted CWC pass to a large air show this weekend (mate in the RAF). Just wondered if you have any tips i should take on-board. i've never shot an air show this close up before :)

Depends on what you are going for?

A good start would be a nice fast lens to keep that shutter speed nice and high or bump up the ISO. On the finals, you may wish to crop to get some nice full size pictures. Centre focus point + AI Servo would also be ideal.

Be warned, planes are pretty quick so try to keep both eyes open.

Thanks All,

It was a good day - totally rained all day but got some shots of the DC3 and a couple of nice portraits of the typhoon display team and black cats team and the uttley butterly / Gunshi girls in the flight brief - the bonus is i just got 5 DC3 pics accepted for fly past magazine - bad weather not great shots but it was the last time the DC3 will carry passengers in Europe so newsworthy i guess :) -so all in all it was worth the two 12 hr days in the rain :)
