I just purchased this for my 40D, and I can't get the remote to work. The corded controller works great, but not the wireless controller. There is no instruction for this. With my XT you have to put the controls on timer I think, tried that with this and it didn't help.

Does anyone have this controller that can help? Thanks.

Here's the controller: http://www.alibaba.com …s_remote_controls_YN.html (external link)

I have a similar one (sold by Adorama at $110 so I am curious as to how much yours cost ;) ).

Mine came with instructions though. First, check to see if the codes are set exactly the same on each piece - the receiver and the transmitter. Then, if that doesnt solve the problem, check the batteries. Both the receiver and transmitter have betteries (only the receiver battery comes in the package though). Perhaps the transmitter battery is dead already.

Good luck. I have only used mine a couple of times but, really like it!

Mine was about $30.00 new on an eBay add. It was a Hong Kong supplier. I will check the batteries, but it does light up when I press the button.

Check carefully the battery for the receiver. After opening the first plastic bag, it still has a second thin clear plastic layer around it, you have to remove it prior to use. It happened to me first and I found out, that the shutter button on the receiver doesn't need power.:)

Two bodies left, some "soso" lenses, and still a lot of gear.....

If all else failed, try to change all the batteries. The batteries might be too weak to trigger the device even when it can still lights up the LEDs. Saw this in another forum.
