Look around on this site for examples of framing (composition of photos). It makes a huge difference between a snapshot and a photo. Number 1 has potential with the proper cropping and editing... HeatherSik has some really good work on this site (and on her site) and there are many others. Heather has always endeavored to help people with their work on this site and I am sure she may chime in sometime.

Don't be discouraged, but look around and see what you like... Then analyze what is different in the shots that you like and your shots and then try to emulate their composition. After you get composition down work on your post processing for REALLY making photos stand out. What kind of software do you have for post processing? If you dont have any GIMP has a free software program that works pretty good. There are other programs out there as well to use. Look around and soak up the skill that others share here and I think you will do fine...

Those really are snap shots...

I just opened the camera and started shooting. I've been over the manual a couple times now and getting more familiar with the camera. I'm jumping up from an A560 that my wife got me for Christmas and was getting frustrated with not having any control over the camera...

I’ve have some better shots using the A560 as far as compisition but it didn’t take me long to figure out that the kit lens is junk and can’t wait for the 55-250. I’ll ask the wife for a wide lens for Christmas…

Here are some of my shots using the A560…

Focus is horrible but:

Ohh, and I used Photoshop Elements 6.0 for a quick process on all these...
