Yeah, I don't know either whether Mark sold it or not. When he put it up for sale, I asked him why he was selling it, but he never responded.
I suppose some folks buy stuff, and then find they just don't have the time or desire to use it. And if it's fair bit of money involved, it probably makes sense just to sell it on down the road.

I finally got a chance to test mine out, despite the 15*F air temp lol.

I dont find the weight of the lens an issue, its very well balanced on my 5D classic. I cant wait when there are more colors outside besides white and gray to really give it a work out!

They're just snap-shots, not much to choose from for scenery, haha.

Nice Paolo. Do you find the 200 long enough on the 7D?

Thanks! For that day I wished I had a bit more length. I thought they werent playing on a regulation-sized field. Will bring a 300mm f/2.8 IS + 7D this Sunday.
It should give me a 480mm vs a 400mm IS + 1D4 that does 520mm.

I used the Picture Style "Landscape" so it is a tad greenish.

I mainly bought this lens for the sharpness and the thin DOF ....
Should I go full frame instead?

I got Mark IV as a trade, but I'm thinking of changing it to FF camera, because I don't usually take sports/action.
Mostly, portraits and landscapes are my target.

I'd wait and shoot it on what you have, then decide if you think something is lacking. I have a feeling you are going to look at the images and say....wow.....oh....wow.....
This lens is shocking.

Edit: I love the images I get from this lens on both the 1Dmk2 and the 1DS ff

I have owned/used 200/1.8 before, so I have a pretty good idea of it's capability....:)
I just haven't compared its output between the FF and the crop cameras...
I'm almost certain it will Look better on FF camera...:)

I just traded my 5d2 to a 7D and the 200 F2 looked better on the FF. I'm a little bummed out about it, I still need to play with the 7D/200F2 a little more to be sure.
