Taken with a 5DII and a 200L IS handheld. My first try at sports photography. Really enjoyed it with the 200L IS. Now I get why people love the 300 f2.8 and the 400mm f2.8 and why they need the faster AF bodies. Will pick up a 1D IV during the week. :D

An "experimental" sports shot...

I hate it too. That's why mine is for sale! ;)

I don't like this lens. The bokeh is so amazing and I probably won't be able to afford it for many years...

I managed to snap a few shots before sending the lens to Canon to fix the IS noise. Man, this lens is sharp!

Sonny the IS noise happens when connected to a 5d3 or 1dx?

It made the noise on both of my 5D3. More like loud click click click when spinning up.

A friend also has the same lens but newer (this year's date code) and it's quiet on his 1DX and his 5D3.

Canon sent out a service advisory for this. Service should be done for free

I just got the lens back from Canon CPS and what a difference. They replaced the board and now it's even quieter than my 300 f2.8 IS. Initial test shows that it's super sharp at f2 too. Can't wait to give it a spin this weekend.

Awesome. I am still hesitant to send my lens to Canon Philippines to have it done. No one here has had their lens upgraded.

I decided to join the owners' group for this wonderful lens (came in Friday evening). It's a dreary, rainy day today so I don't have the best examples to post. But here are a few of the first pics taken with it.

Was feeling sick but the sun came out and I couldn't resist taking her out for a walk in the park.
