Does the Canon 17-40mm L come shipped with a lens hood?

yes. but if you are using a crop camera you may want to consider a more useful hood like the hood for the 17-55 IS.

Could have been found by visiting any seller on the net and looking up the item.
included is:
EF 17-40mm F/4 L USM Lens
LP1319 Lens Pouch Case
EW-83-E Lens Hood
Canon 1-Year USA Warranty

As far as I know, all L lenses include hoods and cases/pouches, while non-L s do not, even if they cost $1,000 like the 17-55 I just purchased.

Thanks ed rader. I'm doing an upgrade to a 5d so it seems the hood should be ok on this lens.
