So are brain surgeons, but they're great at the top end (or so I've always found)!;)

But I'm sure a general surgeon could save your life, as well as is if there's problems wrong with other parts of your body as well. That would serve a much wider segment of the population.

I'll just quote myself from earlier so I don't have to type it again.

I heard you the first time. It seems, from my point of view, that you are expecting orange flavor from apple juice though. What exactly do you want this e-ttl system to do with your Vivitar flashes? Fire them?

Yes, he does. He's thinking that if he gets a remote unit, he'd like to be able to use it to fire as many types of lights as he can. There's nothing wrong with him wanting a versatile device that can do this so that he gets more bang for the bucks he spent on a remote device.

But you're point is well taken, too. The RadioPopper was made to only do a specific function so that's all it's going to do (which is why Village Idiot commented that it had limited utility, at least to him).

So now that we all understand each other, I think it's time to move on and get back on topic with this thread. :)

No. I don't own and don't plan on purchasing the P1's. I don't have a need for them. If they functioned as a radio trigger and a TTL relay, then they would be a million times more useful. They'd probably outsellf Pocket Wizards eventually. I mean, they cost the same and if they were radio triggers, why not purchase them to have the added function of TTL relay if you ever needed it. That's just the point I was making, as PacAce pointed out.

I don't expect anything from them. I've seen the man himself, DH playing with a set at a shoot in baltimore. They worked and they worked pretty damn good, but it's not something the majority of flashing photographers can use, unlike a radio trigger that will fire everything. The "con" of a basic radio trigger? No TTL function.

Actually you both have it wrong, a brain surgeon is a general surgeon who specializes. They could save your life as well as do extremely tricky brain surgery. They are also much more useful than a radio trigger and have better toys to play with!

Pricing the Radio Popper at $180.00 per module means that I can buy the Pocket Wizard instead. Why would anyone buy a Radio Popper when they cost as much as the PW?

Because with the RadioPopper you can:

1. Use high speed sync!
2. Manually control your slave flashes. Have fun getting to that flash in the loft with your PW!
3. Use ETTL if you want to.

Is it possible for either the RadioPopper thing or the Pocket Wizard thing to control a brain surgeon?

If not a brain surgeon, then can it control a general surgeon?

If a four star general needs a brain fix would they use the RadioPopper thing or the Pocket Wizard thing for controlling a brain surgeon, or would they use the RadioPopper thing or the Pocket Wizard thing for controlling a general surgeon.

Could they do the surgery in a loft?

Enjoy! Mr. Macaroon

When are the Jr.'s scheduled for release--sometime this summer? I'm trying to hold off but I may just buy some E-bay triggers for now.
