Just curious, if you can choose between this option what will you choose?

My mainly focus is on portrait, so i want to make full use of my 85L, better focusing, and get better IQ offcourse, and i think the 5D will do the best combo for under $2000 :),

now i got the 85L i think i'll mainly using that and the UWA lens for now, i know that the 17-55 is a good lens but i think the 17-40L will the get that good pict like the 17-55, i'll use it for group and landscape, sure gonna miss that lens ,

thx for your choice :)

just realize that i make a double thread....

I'm not sure what you're asking but based on my reading on it, the 5D is the answer!

5D+24-105 has been my choice. Now the next part would be what could I have instead.

No question, 16-35 2.8L :) In your case, the 5D will really show you what that lens is capable of. I went from a 400D to 5D and I was blown away by everything. The only downside was, I never had any L lenses before.

5D is wonderful. I also prefer the 24-70 as a walk around lens, but the 85 1.8 I have is pretty wonderful too. I would love the 1.2, but I wouldn't use it much.

on full frame anywhere from 80mm to 135 makes a good portrait lens with the most popular around 80mm.
Shorter than that distorts the features as your view point is too close.
Large noses are not always that popular.
Your idea for a 5D and 85L are Ideal.

The 5D + 85L are exemplary together but you may experience a side-effect - an intense craving for the 135L to go with them.

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=506902

yeah IQ is i want right now for my portrait photography :)
the results are not that surprised to me, the #1 option is the better one for me, and i just give another #4 option, also there are some choosing it :)

just wanted to take the risk and convince me selling my gears to get that 5D, and be happy with it, without regretting it later..
thx for the reply guys,..
