I did :-) But I also own a 91" Corsica that only costed me $1300 after getting a new engine, so it isnt too hard to top.

Unfortunately I collect vehicles like I do camera gear; currently my car, my wife's car, a pickup, a boat, a golf cart, and three motorcycles (two of which run). My camera gear is worth more than some individually, but nowhere close if you add them up.

Are you kidding me? Forget the car; I've spent more on my gear than I did to purchase my house.

But I've owned my house for a much longer time. :)

Eh?!? With a tiny two-bed flat costing an average of about $800,000 where I live what gear do you own!?!

Ooops, I voted for the wrong option. I don't currently own a car but of the cars I have owned one was worth more than my gear and one of them I rebuilt the engine with lots of brand new parts so really no, my cars have cost more.

Well, I've never owned a car, so I'm counting my total automotive investment as $0, which is of course less than I've spent on photo stuff.

My father bought the house new for $12,500 in 1961. Three bedrooms, two baths and a full basement that we completed ourselves, adding another bedroom, bath, and rec room. His mortgage payment was $128/month. I paid him a bit more for it and it is worth considerably more today.

I can carry $20,000 worth of gear with me just going out to a game.

Blimey, you couldn't buy a parking space round here for that for a year now :D

Alas no....I'm so far out in ruralville public transportation isn't even an option. Plus, for me to spend more on equipment, the photos would have to earn money, and that definitely ain't happening! :o
