XTi Body 'Calvin': Goes with the brand Canon. The body gets the only male name because I'd like to think of him a working partner... a best man of sort. Always by me and woking together!

Tamron f2.8 17-50mm 'Tammy': This is nothing new as most of you already refer to this lens as Tammy. As you know her wide-angle to medium telephoto capability makes her the best walk-around lens all in the while producing tack sharp clarity and awesome DOF. I think the name fits because I think of Tammy as that 'no-frill girl nextdoor' who get can crap done, drink beer and still look hot in tight jeans and tank top.

Canon f1.8 85mm ‘Elise’: Her extra long portrait capability and very shallow depth of field often produces very artistic pictures. I relate this to an elegant, classy yet a prissy girl name Elise. If she were a person, she’d wear a dress most of the too.

Canon f1.8 50mm 'Minime': This lens is so puny and frail, yet still packs a punch in its own way. I call her ‘Minime’.

So this makes body + lens as a working 'couple'. I guess this makes Calvin a lucky pimp.

Please tell me I'm not crazy.

Life is good!

but if i were to assign names, I'd call my 5D "Honeybunch," and my 40D "Sweetiepie."

I love them that much :D:D:D:D

My Callaway driver was already named, "Big Bertha"

When my Sigma 24-70 came along, it was always mounted on my 400D and from comments at work, it got known at the "anti aircraft weapon" so that became, Hail Mary.

My 50 1.8 was called Igor since I kept using the damn thing. Igor lost. :D

My 5D+24-105 is called Envy since around the workplace, people have heard of the 5D but never seen or used one and they love it.

My 400D, called DAVE! :D

I call my mates 70-200 his "compensation tool" but that's just because I'm jealous because I don't have one.

and I know 70-200 is far from very big. but he's still compensating.

No, they are inanimate objects that have no requirement for a name, other than the one given to them by the marketing department of the company that made them.

I do call my computer 'Homer' tho'... ;)

I have named my laptop violet as it's a vaio - but thats completely normal right?? I mean its just a normal extension of it's already given name...
