I used to call my 24-60 "Sigma", but then I got my Sigma 70-200 too so that doesn't work anymore.

When I was getting ready to go on my jaunt to Africa, actually breaking the news to those that love me and want me to stay around I told my bestfriend where I was going, We googled and saw a photograph of a lion she then told me how the damn big cat was going to take a bit bite out of me and when she tells the story she's going to name the cat Chuck.. So, a few months later my 1-4L showed up and there was nothing to do but name the thing Chuck, I considered it good luck that I would get to take my pictures of the lions I was traveling around the world to shoot. It was and I did and the lens is called Chuck.

I have lots of names for my gear but it depends greatly on how my day is going as to which ones I use and when I use them... :)

My 1975 International Scout is named "Gretchen". She even has her own MySpace page, written from the first person.
My Nissan Xterra I had was named "The Nebachanezzer" from The Matrix and my new Pathfinder is "The Lobos", also from The Matrix
My 30D is named Giovanni, my 70-300 is Renee and my 70-200 is named Woochie. My 300D is Max. My iPod is Olivia.

I guess I have too much time on my hands, too.

I name computers because you have to name computers. Thats about it though. I don't plan to name any other objects.

Rather than "EOS", I call my XTi/400D "POS". My big black custom built PC is "The Monolith".
