i was asked to shoot this bike.
it has some paint detail to it
theres a nice dragon painted on the tank

theme is "Untamed"

what kind of location do you guys visualize?

here are my thoughts
1. jungle area on the dirt
2. road with trees covering the road (i dont think i could fin such a road here)
3. abandon ghetto warehouse
4. underground mall garage

also the bike is black...
i dont like shooting black stuff

ill have 3 umbrellas with hot shoe flashes if needed

suggestions?

For me, I see it as a road bike, so that's where I'd want to shoot it.

IMO, black ROCKS if you use the right light. That includes not pouring light into it with strobes, but using them to light something else to reflect into it.

This bike screams for an urban setting so I'd go with 3. abandon ghetto warehouse or
4. underground mall garage.
Are you shooting owner, rider, model? A person would add interest and you'd loose the stands.

This bike makes me hungry.
If its not in action, a flamey burger bar could feed visually and physically on a hot summers nite. Tricky to light, some place with lots of flame neon.

I think it would look best shot in the wharehouse or underground carpark.

I think it would also look good shot in a garage, tools ect in the background or on the road, somewhere industrial and gritty or on some twisty bit of road somewhere.

Dont forget to post your results, that bike is nice.

With graffiti on the walls.

Heres an idea from the Dean Guitar Chopper shoot I did. I used the paint as the backdrop.
I think a graffiti wall and floor would be awesome or a jungle look.

I'd use a model forsure! and I would stay clear of graffiti, People use graffiti backgrounds to make whatever they are shooting look tougher, Ie muscle cars very clean and waxed with a graffiti messy background makes the car look better. This bike doesnt need that as it looks so tough already, I'd use a white back ground and stick it somewhere unusale like on really green grass with a solid white background with either hollywood lighting and a night sky or daylight with blue sky. And a hot asian blonde to in a red dress or leathers to go with it! Oh yeah!

Theme: "Untamed" ?

You shoot at the local zoo of course. Can't get in? The model needs body paint/clothing representing an animal.

Choose a natural setting with hard lighting.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional

I think the ghetto abandoned warehouse will work well. There's a lot going on with the paint job on that bike, so I wouldn't shoot with a lot going on in the background/setting. I figured the ghetto abandoned warehouse might do justice because the warehouses like that tend to be dull and lifeless. That is of course if there's no graffiti. Bring that bike into the picture and it just comes to life! I would definately use the umbrellas for the shoot.
