Hello,
I'm looking to purchase a black backdrop, but the options out there are overwhelming. Can anyone recommend one in which you are happy with?

Thanks.

Kevin

what are you looking for? Muslin, seamless?

Lot's of people find good deals on ebay like Amnova's ebay store. If you don't mind spending more there is backdropoutlet.com, Silverlakephoto.com

What and where are you shooting? Is budget critical? Do you have any idea of the size you need?

More information up front will always help us help you better. :D

I don't mind spending more for quality products, but If I can get good quality and good price even better.

I'm anticipating a backdrop for portrait photography basically being able to photograph full body of one or two persons and be a "portable friendly" backdrop.

I use a black bedsheet with good results. It is "Thomas Obrien" brand, and Target sells it. I bought mine online. Its called Modern Bronze Charcoal. 400 thread count.

Go paper seamless if you can. Your local photo shop is a great place to buy heavy things like backdrops.

I recommend getting black or dark grey, as you can use a gel to get different colors.

I've found www.amvona.com (external link) to offer a good product at a very reasonable price. With patience you can do even better at their eBay store via auction.
