I have had a P&S for a while now but I am looking forward to taking photography more seriously once I am out of debt. I am going to purchase a 350D or 400D and try to learn as much as I can.

About my question. I am a member of a bodybuilding forum and they have a section of the forum dedicated to "My Online Journal". This is a section where members post a journal about themselves and there experiences with bodybuilding (goals, achievements, diet, training, exercise, etc). Other members can also view anybodies journal and comment if they like.

I was thinking since I am new to photography that I would start a blog and document my experiences, progress, goals, comments, etc. Then I thought, whoa, what if P.O.T.N. had a section like that bodybuilding site has!

Is my idea something that the site admins would be interested in? Do any members have any interest in this forum feature?

I just thought I would suggest an idea.

Thanks!

There are lots of blog sites on the internet that fulfil that function and do it well. What would be the benefit in having POTN try and do the same? Why not start a blog on one of them and include a link to it in your signature? Wouldn't that achieve the same thing?

I agree with you. I just thought it would be fun since we are all Canon users, or plan to be Canon users, and all the journals would be Canon related. Plus more members might prefer to browse the discussion board they already frequent as opposed to navigating to a different sites.

The format I am referring to would just be a section like this one (forum talk) and not an actual blog format like blogger. Whoever would like their own journal would just start a topic and reply to the thread whenever they want to submit a new entry. And members could just scroll down to view all the threads. And all the newly updated threads / journals would be at the top. They could quickly browse the threads and click on their favorite forum members journals.

I have no problem starting a blog on a blog site. Just thought I would run the idea past the admins / mods since I thought it might be a fun / unique forum option.
