Literally.

I just got my 70-200mm 2.8L back from warranty service. It was back focusing, and they fixed it. It's razor sharp.

But....

I have 4 new silver screws in the lens, positioned equally around the circumference of the lens in the area where the gold "Image Stabilizer" log is.

Anyone know why? I haven't gotten a good answer out of Canon yet.

This space for rent.

There are 4 silver screws that go under the tripod collar. Are you sure you just didn't notice them before?

Or did you send it with the collar and it came back without?

Uh..... opps.

Someone from Canon Lens just called me and said, in the nicest way --

Thank you for stating the now painfully obvious.

(I took the tripod collar off for the first time when I sent it in. I didn't notice them then.)

No sweat. I sent my 500mm f/4 to Angry Corgi last year, and he tells me I should have it back any day now!:)

Thanks for the plug. My lightning quick turn-around normally sells the service by itself, but it's always good to get the testimonies out there! ;)
