The golden color on top of the water is the reflection of the late afternoon/early evening sunlight from the cliff faces. You just need to find the right time of day and hope that the conditions are in your favor. As far as equipment goes, I was using a 5D with the 24-105L lens and a polarizer, mounted on a tripod.
