Hi,
To start with I am thinking of shooting on Time for Print/CD basis. That will help me to gain experience with lighting and build portfolio.

One of my friend has kindly agreed to help me. I was wondering should I get a model release signed?

What do I do if I also want to post their picture in public forum like POTN?
If some one wants to buy it? I wont mind sharing the net profit. Should that be included in the first place or I need to get another form signed.

I am so confused. There are so many things that I would like to do. How do I get over all this?

Model release for TFP/CD is different from actual model release form???

Thank you.

#include <iostream>
int main() {
std::cout << "POTN is the best." << std::endl;
return 0; }

Shouldn't really be different, since the ' valuable consideration' they are getting is the cd with images, and presumably a licence for limited usage, instead of getting paid money.

Should you get a model release signed? Doh! Of course; that's the only way you can make sure you don't get into any legal wrangles about how you use the photo. Just make sure the release is for all applicable uses.

Hope this helps
Jon

Thanks a lot. Now that I need to have my personal model release form. I found this http://www.danheller.com/model-release.html (external link)

This is just to vast to go through and make mine. Do any one have a sample which I can modify a bit to make my type?

Thank you.

You'd be far better going to the main trade association for Fashion, Advertising and Commercial Photographers in the uk at www.the-aop.org (external link) . I'll not spoil your curiosity by telling you exactly where, but you'll find what you're looking for there. Spend time browsing the site. It covers a lot of the business side of things. ...and they have a separate set of docs for Scottish law, if I remember right.

Thank you so much

You're welcome. Just remember that if you in any shape or form are thinking of making money from photography, it's 80% business and 20% photography.

I believe most failures are down to misunderstanding the business side, not the photography, and many of these relate to misunderstanding how to price consistently and fairly, such that you don't end up stuck in some role as a 'charity' operation :-)
