Who were they playing, the Padres?

:lol::lol::lol:

The Tigers that night. The M's new hot prospect catcher hit two HRs to account for all the runs scored in the win. We met him a couple of years ago just after he signed. He signed some autographs, gave the kids some basic hitting and fielding tips, and seemed like an all around nice guy. It was very nice to see him have some success.

Mooo.

We're in the Bay Area....drove up this morning.

We passed a fire coming over Pacheco Pass, but it doesn't appear to be one of the big ones they're talking about on the news. This look to be more of a grass fire of just a few dozen acres. Still, it was pretty smokey and eye-watering. There is a lot of smoke/haze in the air generally, even here in San Mateo.

I had to chuckle.....the people up here are just beside themselves from the heat, and to me it feels quite comfortable. I'm not sure how these people would hold up after a month or more of temperatures over 110-115.

Heather sent this to me in an e-mail and I just had to post it here. Here's the description from the press release:

SHARP ON THE OUTSIDE, BUT CUTE ON THE INSIDE
AFRICAN HEDGEHOG BABIES AT THE SAN DIEGO ZOO

Photo Release- They may feel like small pincushions, but five baby African hedgehogs are anything but sharp-tempered in the Children's Zoo at the San Diego Zoo. Born on June 18, they had been staying close to mom, Amina, but are now venturing away from her more. These little creatures use their spines to protect themselves from predators in the wild. They roll themselves up in a complete ball, with even their nose tucked in, and present only the sharp spines to any animal trying to eat them. The babies are as yet unnamed, but are growing fast, now weighing a whopping 1.1 to 1.4 ounces each.

But that 115 is a dry heat, right? :lol:

Growing up, we'd regularly spend our summer weekends in Eastern Washington. Temps were consistently 90+, with 100s not at all uncommon. We never had a problem with it. In Western Washington, anything above 90 is a rare happening, and seems no where near as enjoyable.

The last few days have been very humid in the desert. 55% and above. I got very sweaty loading the care at 5:00 this morning, and the air temp was in the 80s.

It's very nice here, at least in my book. (high 90s, low 100s) Tomorrow is going to be better, and Saturday, better yet.

Here in Sandy, Oregon (just a bit beyond Boring) it's been sunny all day. We've had a gentle breeze with temperatures around 69.

It rained here this afternoon and then the sun came back out. That is killer. Humid.

That's pretty much what happened here.... And you're right it's a killer... I don't have air conditioning so everything feels damp and sticky in the house tonight!! :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Fire away.

Thanks! Would you pop over into the wedding chat thread and see if you can see images on a few of the last 2 posts? We can't seem to raise the dead over there and need someone elses answer.
