Interesting capture from the feedercam this morning, on the left suet feeder we have North America's smallest woodpecker (downy), and on the right we have the largest (pileated)!

Excellent! I must admit to taking a peek at your feedercam at least once a day. The best I've seen so far have been a downy and possibly a red-bellied at the same time. Forgive me if I've got the names wrong but it was fun to see them anyway (and I've been looking for your indigo buntings too!!). You've made me decide to go and get the spare security camera out of the loft and set it up. It's half term school holidays here this coming week so probably will get it organised then so we can possibly get UK feedercam going!

Huge difference in the sizes between the two. Looks like it would take about 6-7 downy's to equal 1 pileated. I'm about to make one of those log feeders, we've got a red head and a pileated hanging around but not coming to any feeders in my yard. Maybe on of the log feeder will draw them in closer. I've enjoyed the cam you have on your feeders Liz, thanks for putting the link to it in the forum.

Thanks for looking. You're correct that the downy and hairy woodpeckers are frequent visitors. I'm hoping the indigo buntings will become regulars. Let us know if you get your camera up, I'd love to see a different view!

Yes, it is interesting to see them side by side. If you've got woodpeckers, the log feeder should bring them in. When I first moved into this neighborhood I heard the pileated woodpeckers and put up the log specifically for them. Just make sure to keep those feeders full of suet (I have to fill mine every day!) and I'm sure they'll become loyal visitors.
