Hi to everyone here. I am now a member and a very pround and happy owner of a 20D. I upgraded from a Sony707. What a change, I wish I knew then what I know now ! My Sony was/is a good camera but can not handle my needs anymore. I have a 17 month old daughter, the camera can not keep up. The shutter lag was horrible. So I made the decision to upgrade to a DSLR. I have always loved taking pictures but never got into it seriously. My wife would get angry sometimes at the amount of time I would spend taking pictures while we were out. I use to joke with her that there is another photo op! So I bought the 20D with kit lense and 70-300DO zoom lense. So far I am extremely happy with everything. I actually just ordered pictures the other day, so hopefully my pictures will look just as good in print as they seem on my monitor. Anyways I am a novice at this with alot to learn yet. I appreciate all of the info I have received from this site so far, and I hope to be able to contribute to it as well. Take care
Nick

Hi Nick and welcome to the POTN forums (which are the best on the net) !

You should prepare your wife and your bank account manager - after all, as belmondo says, EOS means End Of Savings ;)

Best wishes,
Oleg.

Welcome, Nick. I have a 10D which I plan to continue to use and keep and will be purchasing a 20D within the next month. Photography is addictive, LOL, but it is a great hobby/gift/tool/obsession. Enjoy and remember to backup those images for safekeeping just in case the hard drive crashes.
