Do any of the Canon compacts have movie mode Autofocus and Autoexposure as you change scenes while shooting?

Do only the S-1, S-2, S-3, S-5 have zoom in Movie Mode?

I am looking to upgrade my old A80 and I thought that would be a nice feature to include.

The SD1100 does, it also automatically sets the white balance in different scenes plus in movie mode.

It also has exposure lock, focus lock and AF lock, although I haven't got them working yet.

you're able to zoom with the SD1100 in movie mode.

Yes the S-5 can zoom while shooting videos. Not many other camera can.

Can you try it your SD1100 for me. Start taking a video while looking out a window, and then pan to an inside scene. Or do the opposite.

Most camera's will not adjust the brightness as you change from a dark scene to a light scene and back.

I will do, once I get the camera. It's being used elsewhere at the moment:)

Yes, it does msowsun. It works very well and I estimate it takes anywhere from between .25 and .5 of a second to componsate for the change in light and focus. Nice touch indeed:cool:

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. But I was hoping one of the older models might also have it. I'm upgrading from an A80 which has pretty lousy video.

Does anyone know if any of the older models can do this? None of the reviews that I have read ever mention it.

I just checked out a Canon A610 and there is no optical zoom, but there is digital zoom with video. AND it also will adjust brightness when changing from bright to darker areas while still shooting video.

My A80 doesn't do either.
