I was shooting pictures of my cousins little one today and this happened??

Does anyone have an idea what happened??? These are what they looked like on my screen on my camera...

I don't even know if this is possible, but it looks as if the shutter is sticking.
Do you get normal pictures on either side of these bad ones?
If so, then the shutter must be at fault.

I got normal photos on both sides of these..... Believe it or not?? There was only 3 out of the set of 56 that I took that came out like these 2.

It almost looks like you shot these with a flash (even though EXIF shows no flash... it's possible that the flash was not reporting to the camera).

Max flash sync is usually 1/200 or 1/250 and these were shot much faster than that, so the shutter would have cut off the rest of the flash.

It makes sense mathematically, too. The first is at 1/800 and the bright section is 1/3 of the photo. The second is at 1/1250th and the bright section is 1/5th of the frame.
