Hi,

I've seen a few rumors floating around about the release of the NEXT Digital Rebel. Anyone have any info on this?

Release date? What will it be called? Pricing? Specs? Anything??

Thanks!

There's a black body Rebel out. Is that what you are talking about?

The rumors say:
Spring Release
DiG!C 2 Chip
8MP (Same as 20D)
Selectable AF Modes
E-TTL2
Bye bye hackable firmware!

My thoughts:
Greater frame buffer (8 shots?)
Faster FPS (I doubt is will be the 20D's 5fps)
Colour - Black
Name: DIgital Rebel MkII and EOS 300Dv or 300Dx

Be nice to see some more EF-S lenses too!

Ah what does it matter I already have a 20D :D

Hmmm... What month would you guess?

Congrats on the 20D. Nice! I'd love to have it, but it's WAY more camera than I need, and more money than I really need to spend on a camera. If it were $1000 with the lens included, I'd already own one! :)

But since it's not, I'm really looking forward to that next Drebel.

It will be released on April 1st and will cost approximately $499.97 USD. The kit will come with the unreleased EF-S 18-55mm L II DO IS USM.

The mount for that 17-300 costs $629.00 US, but that is no big deal seeing as you get an 8 MP camera with lens and mount for a little over a $1000.

Yes, I know.

Have you seen a 17-300 lens? I haven't. I have seen a 28-300, and a 17-83, I even think there is a 17-135 somewhere, but a 17-300 L series Image Stabalised with defractive optics on a camera for under $500? Yes I got the joke.

Sorry my warped humor is esspically bad at this time of the year, esspcially when I am working

Is there really a 17-300? I thought I made it up?
