Hi,

I've seen a few rumors floating around about the release of the NEXT Digital Rebel. Anyone have any info on this?

Release date? What will it be called? Pricing? Specs? Anything?? :lol:

The rumors say:
Spring Release
DiG!C 2 Chip
8MP (Same as 20D)
Selectable AF Modes
E-TTL2
Bye bye hackable firmware!

My thoughts:
Greater frame buffer (8 shots?)
Faster FPS (I doubt is will be the 20D's 5fps)
Colour - Black
Name: DIgital Rebel MkII and EOS 300Dv or 300Dx

Be nice to see some more EF-S lenses too!

Hmmm... What month would you guess?

Congrats on the 20D. Nice! I'd love to have it, but it's WAY more camera than I need, and more money than I really need to spend on a camera. If it were $1000 with the lens included, I'd already own one!

But since it's not, I'm really looking forward to that next Drebel.

It will be released on April 1st and will cost approximately $499.97 USD. The kit will come with the unreleased EF-S 18-55mm L II DO IS USM.

The mount for that 17-300 costs $629.00 US, but that is no big deal seeing as you get an 8 MP camera with lens and mount for a little over a $1000.

Have you seen a 17-300 lens? I haven't. I have seen a 28-300, and a 17-83, I even think there is a 17-135 somewhere, but a 17-300 L series Image Stabalised with defractive optics on a camera for under $500? Yes I got the joke.
