I have a brand new PNY UDMA card that has given me all kinds of trouble......and now I can't get any device (including my camera) to read any images.

So.....I have decided to send it to someone that does this often enough to know if its going to be worth my money to recover what might can be salvaged. I am looking for your recommendations based on experience.....

Thanks!

Download the trial version of PhotoRescue (external link) and see how it does; if it can access the card and show any of your images you can buy it to recover them. It's one of the best recovery programs out there.

My only problem with trying one of the trials is that it is a UDMA card. I think I might have been the cause of this whole problem, by me trying to read out the UDMA card with the new reader........while attached to a USB hub.

I've since moved the reader to its own dedicated USB port on my desktop, but don't know if the reader is possibly damaged also. The USB hub is toast........

It may not work at all for flash devices, but I've had good luck with just mounting hard drives in linux that were unreadable by windows. Sometimes you can get files off that way. No idea if it would work for flash media though
