On a hazy sunny day any tips for correctly setting camera and flash?
I know the Auto mode will calculate it but would prefer tips to set it with one of the 'creative' modes...

If you want more than that, prepare to spend some time learning about flash photography. It's surprisingly complicated: you have to deal with multiple light sources where one or more of the light sources aren't lighting the subject during metering and instead are controlled by the camera.

What tzalman said..Meter for the subject in Manual then set your flash exposure at - 1 1/2 to - 2 stops.. Jurgen
