As titled stated my Gf washed my clothes w/o checking my pockets and i had 2 brand new cards in the case holder in my pockets.

My question is are they ruined?

LOL one is an 8 gig extreme IV and the other 4 gig Extreme III.

I'll let them sit for a few days on there own and hope for the best.

I've read several posts on this forums from people that have done just that and all of their cards work afterward as far as I can remember. But yeah, let it dry for a few days to make sure there's no moisture inside it when you power in back on again.

No, they're not. But they are cleaner, though. ;)

:D

They're probably fine. Most of us have probably washed a card or flash drive before, without incident. Oh, and stop blaming it on your girlfriend.

Should work fine. Just let them dry for a long time. Not 2 weeks ago my GF didn't check my pockets and washed my 1gb USB Flash Drive (It's all the same tech inside though, solid state), so once it drives, you should be totally fine.

Thanks guys even for the comedians as well.

The 4 gig cards are cheap enough but the 8 gig is 180.00 and that's the one I was mainly worried over.

As suggested ill make sure they sit and dry out so nothing short circuits and give them a test before I go off on a weekend trip.

I washed a couple of 256MB 4x Lexars that I used in my trail camera 2-3 years ago and they still work, don't use them much, but they work fine.

Just let them dry out for a few days and they should be fine. And don't be too hard on your GF, I gave my wife a hard time about something with the laundry once. Guess why I was doing the laundry and washed the cards....

I've even heard of people running those things through the dryer and they worked fine afterwards. Just give it a few days, and it should be okay.

I'm not sure but mine may have gone through the dryer as well, but I would not recommend it.
