Love the lens/converter combo Jim (I have to ..... it's the same one I use!) Great shots here, I notice the keeper in #6 is wearing a replica Australian test match shirt!

Looking forward to seeing more mate :)

I bought a Kenko pro 3000 2x for it but it wont work in Auto focus have to use manual, do you know is there any 2x that will work in Auto focus with the 300f4?

Jim, it's not the 300 F4 that's limiting the focus, it's the body. The 1 series cameras will AF upto F8, where as the consumer bodies, 40D, 30D, 450D, 400D etc.

There is a way of fooling the lens/camera to AF which is refered to as taping the pins which just means covering up the contacts on the lens (at the mount) but I've never tried to be honest.

I forgot to say 4, 5 and 8 would be my keepers (no pun) :)

Darren

Hi I have not attempted cricket photography as yet but with experience in other sports I can see you have acheived some excellent results with some very good timimg. It's not an easy sport to cover with relatively short lenses,600-800mm being typically required at bigger grounds and distracting coloured backgrounds being problematic.
Keep up the good work.

It would seem the auto focus problem still exists even in brand new cameras, well thats if you listen to messageboard reviewers anyway, i seriously think im gonna wait until the mk3N comes out unless i can pick up a used body local to me which i can try before i buy.

Gaz was at a rally yesterday and tried some new settings with the 40D and 70-200 2.8L, used all Af points and Metering mode Center-weighted average, seemed ok
