My 5D has a 4 GB card. I take about 50 shots & it says CF Full and will accept no more photos. Move the card to the PC and I've only used about 1% of the space. What do I do/

Try formating your card via the camera's menu

Try a different card?

The most likely explanation is that you have moved photos to the Trash/Recycle Bin on the computer, but not emptied it. So they are still on the card.

As Tumeg said, reformat the card on the camera.

If it still persists after formatting in camera try doing a format on the computer.

You clearly have a special 40D that is producing 80MB RAW files. Interpolating from common file sizes that probably makes it somewhere between 60 and 80 megapixels. Perhaps there was a mix-up at the factor and they accidentally fitted the sensor that was supposed to go in this: http://www.itl.arizona.edu/Detectors/ITL_Detectors.htm (external link)

Congratulations.

ps. If you want a bit more space on the card, perhaps try shooting in jpeg - they should only be 40MB or so!

Is it a matter of just needing to reset your camera's file number? As you approach 9999 the camera limits the available number of photos until resetting or starting a new folder.

If none of the above works, I wonder if it is one of those counterfeit Sandisk cards?
