Linda,

Where are you located? It's weird that your "moon line" goes UL to LR.

Tony your moon shot looks great! That is the first shot I had planned to do when mine arrives Wednesday was to stick my Tamron 1.4 on it, mount it to the tripod, and shoot the moon!

Mike,

Use MLU for sure - substantial difference.

You might also want to add the archive thread to the archive while you're waiting for your lens to arrive. :)

Just a couple of a dove with my Sigma 150-500. I am liking this lens a lot.

I had time today to run some tests between my 100-400 and the Sigma, also with 2x and 2.8x TCs. I finally finished the mini-review post, here it is!

A couple of ground squirrels this morning. They are commonly called Greydiggers or digger squirrels locally.

Here are a few more at 1400mm. This is Jupiter and four of its moons, all 800x600 pixel crops. Unfortunately, the spot is not visible, nor was it when I peered through my telescope. I suspect it's on the other side. If I had waited a bit longer I might have caught it. Mars and Saturn are on the western horizon for a few more days, but they are too low for me to see them from my home. I might drive around tomorrow to see if I can get a better peek at them.

Anyway, a series at 1/4" and 1" on the tripod with OS off.

And here's 4". I'm really surprised at how much it moves in that amount of time.

its cool to watch the moon and stars move across the screen isnt it? pretty fast! That was fun. Northern hemisphere, southern california?
I tried the star and couldn't find it! ;~) we had a few clouds and it would show up and then disappear off the screen.

All,

Has anyone noticed any front/back focusing issues with the 400D (XTi) and Sigma 150-500 lens ??

I posted a few 100% crops earlier (here and in another forum) and someone (from the other forum) suggested that despite the focus being the bird's eye (which I had to clarify), the focusing is bit-off. He also added that it might be because of front-focusing.

Wanted to know if anyone else faced a similar issue ?? If so, what's the solution ?

Thanks.

Cheers,
Girish
